Internet and Browser Error Troubleshooting

An exact error message is useful evidence. Match it below before resetting equipment or changing settings.

ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTEDThe device has no usable connectionCheck the complete connection
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAINDNS could not find the requested domainFix the DNS error

Check Whether It Is One Website or the Whole Internet

Open two unrelated websites. If only one fails, the website or its DNS record may be the issue. If everything fails, check the local connection, router and ISP. Avoid changing multiple settings at once because that makes the original cause harder to identify.

When to Escalate

Contact the website owner when one site fails everywhere. Contact your ISP when all devices fail, the modem shows a line or optical warning, or the provider confirms an outage. Contact the device manufacturer when only one device repeatedly loses its network adapter.
