USA to India time conversion changes during the year because many U.S. locations adjust their clocks while India Standard Time stays the same.
Why the Difference Changes
India Standard Time is fixed at UTC+5:30. India does not move clocks forward or backward during the year. Many U.S. states, however, use daylight saving time. When clocks move forward in the United States, the time difference between that U.S. zone and India becomes one hour smaller.
This is the reason a meeting that used to be 8:30 PM in India can become 7:30 PM in India after a U.S. daylight saving change, even if the U.S. calendar invite still says the same local time.

Common Mistakes Around Clock Changes
The most common mistake is using the wrong abbreviation. PST and PDT are not the same. EST and EDT are not the same. If you write only "9 AM U.S. time," people may not know which zone or seasonal offset you mean.
- Use city names when possible, such as New York time or Los Angeles time.
- Use the current abbreviation shown by a reliable converter for the selected date.
- Check the first recurring meeting after the U.S. spring and fall clock changes.
- Be careful with Arizona, because most of the state does not follow daylight saving time.
- Remember that Hawaii does not use daylight saving time.
