Privacy Policy

This policy explains how FreeInternetTest.com handles basic website data, browser-based tools, cookies and advertising technologies.

Information We Do Not Ask For

FreeInternetTest.com tools are designed to be simple. The speed test and time conversion pages do not ask visitors to enter names, phone numbers, passwords, payment details or private account information.

Browser-Based Time Tools

Our USA and India time-zone converter calculates times in your browser using standard time-zone features available in modern browsers. The time values you choose are used to show results on the page and are not meant to collect personal meeting details.

Cookies and Advertising

If advertising is enabled on the live website, third-party advertising partners, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to visitors based on visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

Visitors may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Visitors can also learn about opting out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

You can also manage or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some website features or ads work.

The website includes a privacy choices banner that lets visitors accept or decline advertising cookies. If you decline, ad scripts are not loaded. You can reopen your choice from the Privacy choices button shown on the page.

Log and Usage Data

Like most websites, hosting providers and analytics systems may process technical details such as browser type, device type, pages visited, approximate location based on IP address, referring page and time of visit. This information helps maintain performance, security and site reliability.

External Links

Some pages may link to third-party websites for additional information or services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of websites we do not operate.

Tool data and storage

Internet speed measurements require download, upload and HTTP timing requests to this website’s server. A completed test may submit download, upload, latency and jitter values with a random result token. The server stores those measurements, the token and a timestamp to assign a result ID.

Test history, saved browser benchmark results and a random visitor identifier use browser storage. Clearing this website’s data in your browser removes local records; it does not automatically delete records already stored on the server. The visitor counter uses a browser identifier and cookie and stores a keyed hash and first-seen time, rather than an IP address in the counter table. Hosting request logs may separately contain IP addresses.

Camera, microphone and external services

Camera and microphone permission is requested when you enable a relevant tool. Those preview streams are used in your browser and the tools do not upload or record them. Browser permissions can be revoked in site settings.

Provider and approximate location lookup uses ipapi.co, which receives the network request and its IP address. Website performance reports open Google PageSpeed Insights; DNS checks open BrowserLeaks. Those services have their own privacy practices. Sharing a result is optional and sends the selected result to the service you choose.

For questions about server-stored records, use Customer Service and describe the relevant result ID if available. Do not send private credentials.

Retention and deletion

Internet test history remains in this browser until you clear it. Use Clear history in Test History to remove the local internet-test list, or clear this website’s storage through your browser settings. Clearing local history does not remove server-stored result IDs and measurements.

The current result-ID system does not automatically expire server-stored measurements. The visitor-counting system also keeps its stored identifier hashes without an automatic expiry. The visitor cookie is set for up to one year, and the browser-storage identifier remains until site data is cleared. This describes current operation rather than a guaranteed retention period for hosting logs or third-party services.

To request deletion of a server-stored test record, email contact@freeinternettest.com with the result ID and the approximate test date. Customer Service will review the request and may ask for information needed to locate the record and verify that it relates to you. Do not include passwords or authentication codes. Deletion is not performed by the local History clear button.

Changing advertising choices

Use Privacy choices to decline advertising. Reload the page after changing a previous acceptance: scripts already loaded during that visit cannot be undone simply by closing the banner. Browser settings can also remove cookies already stored. Declining advertising does not disable the connection test or erase previously saved results.
